The Title
‘Researcher of The Year’ is a highly coveted and topmost honour that IAAM confers upon the best of researchers and scientists. The title is a highly desirable one and serves as the recognition of excellence in Materials Science research. The elite researchers who are shortlisted for this honour are required to deliver a lecture in the online Advanced Materials Lecture Series or in an assembly of the Advanced Materials Congress. This highly informative lecture is recorded and published in the Open Access Video journal of IAAM, Video Proceedings of Advanced Materials.
Eligibility
Since the title of ‘Researcher of the Year’ is one of the top-most awards conferred upon researchers by IAAM, the association is quite selective regarding it. This highly prestigious honour is conferred upon a researcher or scientist who has been a leader in an important interdisciplinary field of science for at least 25 years or more. The association considers elite researchers who have made a highly significant impact in any field, including but not limited to, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Medicine, Atmosphere, Planetary Sciences, and Ocean sciences. Individuals operating as independent researchers are also eligible for this honour, provided they have demonstrated leadership and conducted quality research. All over the globe, any scientist or researcher who has made some really outstanding contributions to the Materials science with their research and results along with making efforts towards the dissemination of scientific education, promotion of materials science research and its application is considered eligible for this honour. IAAM does not consider any factors like ethnicity, background, nationality, race, religion, gender, and age to shortlists the recipients of this title.

Selection Procedure
IAAM utilizes scientific databases to conduct a review of the research and findings contributed by elite scientists to Materials Science, Engineering, and Technology. On the basis of this review, IAAM invites the eminent scientific contributors to file nomination for the title of ‘Researcher of The Year’. The sole authority in matters of reviewing the nominations is IAAM’s Scientific Committee. This committee shortlists the researchers to submit their abstract for the lecture to be delivered in either the Advanced Materials Congress of online in the Advanced Materials Lecture Series. Once the abstract is submitted, the lecture is delivered within three months of the date of endorsement.
Upcoming Events
International Association of Advanced Materials coordinates a search committee that carries out the initial review process for ‘Researcher of the Year’. To arrive at the final decision, the scientific committee considers contributions and achievements of the individuals. In the last decade, IAAM has honoured many researchers from around the world with this highly coveted and desirable title.
